As part of the Inter-Entrepreneurial Education Center MIC, our school hotel Astoria operates under the public institution Higher Vocational College for Hospitality, Wellness, and Tourism Bled. The Astoria Hotel is not just a hotel but also an exceptional learning environment where practical training for our students and pupils takes place.

What is MIC?
Inter-Entrepreneurial Education Center MIC is a key institution for work-based practical training that can operate as an institution, economic company, or organizational unit of an institution, company, or other legal entity. MIC allows students to gain practical experience in a real work environment.
Our services
In addition to work-based practical training, MIC provides preparations for candidates for:
- Master’s, supervisory, and management exams
- Certification of national vocational qualifications
- Conducting practical work for final exams and vocational maturity
Furthermore, we offer training in response to technological changes in work processes and for enhancing the competitiveness of the economy.
Our role in VSŠ Bled
Within the Higher Vocational College for Hospitality, Wellness, and Tourism Bled (VSŠ Bled), MIC performs tasks related to the practical training of students from secondary, higher, and higher professional schools from Slovenia and abroad. We train candidates for master’s, supervisory, and management exams and prepare candidates for the certification of national vocational qualifications.
Training for the future
MIC trains for the needs of technological changes in work processes and for enhancing competitiveness through the development of new technologies, innovations, and research. We also provide other services agreed upon between the institution and partners or other clients.
Connecting with the economy
MIC conducts its educational activities by providing practical training for students of higher vocational programs studying at the VSŠ institution and for students from other schools according to educational or study programs and signed contracts in the field of education. We also facilitate other forms of business collaboration, especially with developmental tasks in areas for which the institution provides education.
School Hotel Astoria
The School Hotel Astoria is a learning center for students of hospitality and tourism, associated with knowledge and tourism development. Every year, students undertake practical training under the supervision of staff at the school hotel, who, in addition to their market activities, provide mentorship to students and pupils.
By blending experiences and knowledge, along with the commitment of the staff and fresh ideas from students, we create a unique atmosphere and an unforgettable experience for guests. Our goal is to become a recognizable culinary hotel center focused on knowledge, with a learning center for students, while maintaining a constructively responsible and respectful relationship with the natural, social, and cultural environment. We recognize that sustainable business practices are not only our responsibility to the environment but also our advantage.
